The Basics
Dr. Lipman's comprehensive plan to defeat the symptoms of heartburn and indigestion also protects against the potentially damaging effects of acid reducing drugs, including damage to the intestinal lining, poor nutrient absorption, disturbed gut microflora, and weakened immunity.
How to take it
GI Calm - 2 capsules twice daily on an empty stomach
GI Herbal Formula - 1 capsule twice daily on an empty stomach
Probiotic Powder - 1 teaspoon a day with water (or 2 half teaspoons twice a day)
Take the supplement bundle for 30 days. Creating a healthier digestive environment is highly rewarding, but slightly different for each of us, and some may need to extend the plan for another four weeks. Once you've restored upper GI health and function, maintain it with a daily probiotic.
What to eat
Follow the Be Well Cleanse diet, plus avoid garlic and onions. Avoid eating processed and packaged foods. Focus on fortifying and nourishing your body with fresh wholesome foods and check out the acid-reducing tips below.
GI Calm
GI Calm combines gut building botanical extracts and essential nutrients to boost the body’s ability to soothe, repair and regenerate the lining of the esophagus and the intestinal tract.
GI Herbal Formula
GI Herbal Formula is a botanical blend to beat back bad belly bacteria and promote a healthier balance of gut microflora. This creates a stronghold for good digestion, improved overall gastric function and in the long run, vigorous immunity.
Probiotics
Probiotic Powder provides 5 of the most stable and viable “good bacteria” that are critical for healthier digestion, improved gastro function in general, stronger immunity, optimal vitamin absorption and better overall health.
Please Note
Your probiotics will be sent in a refrigerated cooler pack with cold packs. Cold packs may melt during shipping which should not affect product integrity, as the probiotics have been stored in refrigerators at our warehouse and are manufactured with overages to ensure label potency when exposed to higher temperatures. The probiotics should be refrigerated upon arrival, but no need to be concerned if the ice packs are melted.
Acid-Reducing Tips
- Avoid acid-reducing drugs, both prescription and over the counter – they deplete the body of the natural acids that are essential for proper digestion.
- Take Swedish Bitters: dissolve 1- 3 tablespoons into an 8 oz. glass of water and drink 15 minutes before eating to get digestive juices flowing and aid in healthy digestion.
- Stop smoking. Smoking weakens the valve between the esophagus and the stomach, allowing acid to flow back up and cause irritation and burn.
- Eat small, frequent meals rather than large ones to avoid putting pressure on your stomach and increasing the chance of reflux.
- Eat slowly to ensure proper digestion of food.
- Avoid restrictive clothing, which can also add unnecessary pressure on your stomach.
- Avoid eating 2-3 hours prior to bedtime so that digestion is well underway before you lie down.
- Elevate your chest with an extra pillow or rolled up towel while you sleep to help keep acid where it belongs – in your stomach.
